Haymarket Theatre financial accounts, receipts, and letters, 1816-1855.

The collection contains ten financial accounts of cash received for performances and copyrights due to the proprietors from various English, Scottish, and Irish theatres; nineteen receipts signed by playwrights (including R.F. Jameson, W.T. Dimond, Jas. Kenney, Joseph Lunn, John Poole, C.E. Walker, J.B. Buckstone, C.J. Mathews, J.R. Planché (for Eliza Planché), Catherine Frances Gore) giving the names of the plays concerned and brief details of the rights assigned; a detailed 1816 assignment between theatre manager David Edward Morris and playwright Robert Francis Jameson concerning his play Exit by Mistake; nineteen letters or notes on theatre business (including letters from R.F. Jameson, J. Cumberland, John Poole, and Benjamin Webster; letters to George Colman, David E. Morris, and actor William Macready); and two pages of financial calculations.
